Groups
By state, by brand, by season, by how long you’ve been at it. Small enough that people recognise each other.
Porch Flock is where the people who dress them find each other. Groups by state and by season, message boards you can search, and a photo feed built around the outfits.

Where the hobby lives today
Members of the largest porch goose group on Facebook.
People in a second group for buying and selling, with its own escrow and its own rule against copying designs.
Goose sellers who let you filter, sort or search by fit. The collections are arranged by holiday.
What we’re building
By state, by brand, by season, by how long you’ve been at it. Small enough that people recognise each other.
Threads that stay findable. Ask which cape fits a 23-inch goose in March and still get an answer in October.
The hobby runs on a calendar: twelve occasions a year and a closet of last season’s clothes.
Every brand, measured the same way, with its source and its date. Free to read, no account.
The makers
The people making these outfits are mostly individuals who sew.
Much of the trade happens in a second group with its own escrow, which has been carrying a real economy for years.
Every row of the registry names its maker.
Twelve occasions a year
It is an old signal in an American neighbourhood: someone is home, and you may walk up.
The geese get dressed for the season and the street notices. This is somewhere for that to go — a way to see what the next state over did for Halloween, or to find the person who made that cape.
Working today
Nobody publishes it. Garments close around a body and a height cannot tell you that. So we started writing down what everybody does publish, and what is missing.
Everything anybody publishes, today
18 of 76Nineteen geese and outfits, four measurements each. Eighteen have a published value and every one of them is a height. None were measured by us yet.

Three measuring instructions from one store’s two collection pages, read on 19 September 2026. Both pages are cited in full, with their addresses, in note 1 of the registry.
“Measure your statue from the base to the top of the head” — fits geese 23 to 27 inches.
One collection page, read 19 September 2026
“measure your goose from chest to ground” — most fit geese 22 to 24 inches.
A second collection page, the same store
“Measure your goose from the base of the neck to the ground”.
the same page, further down, the same day
Those are three different lengths on the same bird, and the gaps between them are larger than the difference between the two stated ranges. If you are shopping, there is no way to tell which one applies to your goose.
On the porch, not at a desk
Every part of this happens outside with your hands full — measuring, dressing, photographing, checking whether a cape will fit before you buy it.
So it is built for a phone first, and it opens from a link. Apps are coming for iPhone and Android.
What happens next
The registry is free to read right now. The groups, the boards and the feed are being built. If you want one email when they open, that is the whole list.
